this great stallion are still producing horses with the “Gold Melody Boy
look” of Arabian type with balance and elegance.” He was actually a

their progeny have excelled in the Show Ring. Both of his parents were
Shetlands, his Sire being Lightning Bug and his Dam, Ginns Melody, were
bred by William Dalton of Peaceful Valley Ranch in Hendersonville, North
Carolina. During the 1960’s & 1970’s William Dalton and his friend, J.
C. Williams of the Dell Tera Farm, bred him to their Mares. In 1972
GOLD MELODY BOY was sold to Lloyd & Zola Johnston who bred him along
with the the owners of WITTMAACKS MICKEY MOUSE and they did a lot of line
breeding and cross breeding to concentrate the genetic prepotency of
this wonderful Stallion. As a result of breeding him to his daughters
and his sons to his daughter, this line has become the most recognizable
and prepotent lines in the Miniature Horse World today. He only Sired
34 registered Get of which twenty-six were Daughters. He was later sold
to Flying W Farms where GOLD MELODY BOY died in a stable fire in 1983,
and where he was buried.
